Aluminum Bronze Seal Seat – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our aluminum bronze seal seats are designed and manufactured to provide long-term, leak-free performance in aggressive service conditions where standard materials would fail prematurely.
Key process features
Production follows a rigorous sequence to ensure dimensional accuracy and material integrity:
●Material Selection: Only certified ingots meeting exact UNS composition are used, with pre-melt chemical analysis.
●Casting Method: Sand casting or centrifugal casting produces dense, defect-free blanks with controlled grain structure.
●Heat Treatment: Full annealing cycle relieves stresses and optimizes hardness and toughness balance.
●Rough Machining: CNC lathes establish basic geometry and prepare sealing surfaces.
●Precision Finishing: Critical seating surfaces are ground and lapped to mirror-like finish (typically Ra ≤0.2 μm) for optimal valve sealing.
●Optional Treatments: Hard facing or polymer coatings applied where enhanced wear or low-friction is required.
●Cleaning & Protection: Ultrasonic cleaning followed by protective oiling and secure packaging.
Quality control system
● Full traceability from melt batch to finished seat
● Retention of test samples and records ≥3 years for third-party re-verification (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of critical characteristics:
• Chemical composition (stationary spectrometer)
• Mechanical properties (tensile, hardness, and impact testing on witness samples)
• Dimensional accuracy (CMM and optical measurement; typical tolerance ±0.02mm on sealing faces)
• Surface finish and flatness (profilometer and optical flats)
• Non-destructive testing (dye penetrant + ultrasonic for subsurface defects)
● Internal specifications exceed ASTM B148 and API 6D requirements where applicable. Typical C95800 properties: Tensile strength ≥690 MPa, Yield strength ≥345 MPa, Exceptional resistance to cavitation and seawater corrosion.
