Brass Busbar – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our brass busbars are manufactured to support efficient power distribution where a balance of conductivity, workability, and durability is needed, particularly in environments requiring resistance to oxidation and ease of fabrication.
Key process features
Production follows established hot and cold working methods for uniform properties and surface quality:
●Raw Material Melting: Certified copper and zinc are alloyed in controlled furnaces to achieve precise composition.
●Continuous Casting: Slabs are cast with slow cooling to ensure internal homogeneity and low defect levels.
●Hot Rolling: Initial reduction forms thick plates, refining grain and improving density.
●Cold Rolling: Further passes achieve final thickness with enhanced surface smoothness and strength.
●Annealing: Protective atmosphere annealing optimizes ductility and relieves rolling stresses.
●Slitting & Cutting: Precision slitting to width, followed by sawing or shearing to length with clean edges.
●Optional Plating: Tin electroplating available for improved solderability and additional corrosion protection.
●Final Packaging: Bars are bundled with protective interleaving to prevent scratches during handling and shipping.
Quality control system
● Full traceability from alloy melt to finished busbar
● Test reports including conductivity and dimensional data provided with each shipment
● Sample retention ≥3 years for third-party confirmation (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of key parameters:
• Chemical composition (optical emission spectrometry)
• Mechanical properties (tensile, elongation, and hardness on samples)
• Dimensional accuracy (micrometers and flatness gauges; typical tolerance ±0.2mm on thickness)
• Surface quality (visual inspection for defects or oxidation)
• Electrical conductivity (eddy current testing where required)
● Internal standards meet or exceed ASTM B187 requirements. Typical C26000 properties: Tensile strength 350-450 MPa, Good conductivity (around 28% IACS), Reliable bending without cracking.
● ISO 9001:2015 certified operations ensure every brass busbar offers the consistent quality and performance essential for safe, efficient electrical installations.
