Chromium Zirconium Copper Plate – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our chromium zirconium copper plates are specifically developed for applications requiring sustained conductivity and strength at elevated temperatures, where standard copper alloys would soften or degrade.

Key process features

Production follows a precise metallurgical sequence to maximize the precipitation hardening benefits of Cr and Zr additions:
●Alloy Melting: High-purity copper is melted with controlled chromium and zirconium additions under protective atmosphere to prevent oxidation.
●Continuous or Semi-Continuous Casting: Dense ingots are produced with uniform distribution of alloying elements.
●Hot Working: Ingots are hot rolled at controlled temperatures to break down cast structure and achieve initial plate dimensions.
●Solution Heat Treatment: Plates are heated to dissolve precipitates, followed by rapid quenching for supersaturated solid solution.
●Cold Working & Aging: Light reduction combined with precipitation aging develops optimal hardness, strength, and conductivity balance.
●Finishing: Plates are straightened, milled to exact thickness, and cut to size with clean edges.
●Final Protection: Surfaces are cleaned and lightly coated to maintain quality during storage and international shipping.

Quality control system

● Complete traceability from raw material charge to finished plate
● Material test certificates and heat treatment reports supplied with every shipment ● Sample retention ≥3 years for third-party verification (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of critical parameters:
• Chemical composition (optical emission spectrometry)
• Mechanical properties (tensile, hardness, and conductivity testing on multiple samples)
• Dimensional accuracy (CMM and ultrasonic thickness; typical tolerance ±0.5mm on thickness)
• Surface quality and flatness (visual + profilometer checks)
• Conductivity verification (typically ≥80% IACS after aging)
● Internal standards exceed ASTM B768 requirements. Typical C18150 aged properties: Tensile strength ≥450 MPa, Hardness ≥140 HB, Electrical conductivity ≥80% IACS, Excellent resistance to softening up to 500°C.
● ISO 9001:2015 certified processes ensure every chromium zirconium copper plate delivers reliable, high-performance characteristics for your most demanding welding and molding applications.
