Fine Brass Rod – Product Technical Supplement

Our fine brass rods (diameter range Φ1.0–Φ25.0 mm) are manufactured through a combination of continuous extrusion followed by multi-pass cold drawing and precision finishing draws. This process ensures excellent straightness, concentricity, and surface finish within extremely tight tolerances.
Standard grades include H62, H63, H65, H68, and lead-free environmental series C27200, C26000, etc. Chemical composition and mechanical properties can be adjusted to customer specifications.

Key process controls

● Melting performed in medium-frequency induction furnace with horizontal continuous casting; gas and inclusion levels strictly controlled; typical grain size 0.015–0.035 mm.
● Immediate solution treatment after hot extrusion to eliminate residual stress and prevent cracking or surface peeling during subsequent cold working.
● Reduction per drawing pass controlled between 15–25%; intermediate annealing conducted in vacuum or protective atmosphere furnaces to prevent oxidation and dezincification.
● 100% eddy-current testing on finished rods, supplemented by ultrasonic inspection when required; no internal micro-cracks or porosity.
● Dimensional tolerance reliably held within ±0.005 mm; straightness ≤0.05 mm/m; surface roughness Ra ≤0.4 μm.
